Day 2

KUALA LUMPUR - JEDDAH - MEDINA

Nabawi Mosque

  • Also known as Al-Masjid An-Nabawi or the Prophet's Mosque
  • The tomb of the Prophet Muhammad is located inside the Al-Masjid An-Nabawi, in a chamber called the Raudhah.

Saqifah Bani Saidah

  • After the death of Rasulullah S.A.W, Khalifah Abu Bakar, Umar & Uthman met in Saqifah Bani Saidah.
  • Discussing where to place the remains of the Prophet Muhammad & who would replace him as Khalifah.

Maqam Rasulullah SAW, Khalifah Abu Bakar & Sayyidina Umar

  • The tomb of Rasulullah S.A.W is surrounded by a high golden fence adorned with calligraphy, as well as 3 holes in the golden barrier.
  • The tombs of Khalifah Abu Bakar & Sayyidina Umar are positioned to the left and right of Rasulullah S.A.W.

It is mentioned in the hadith, "No Prophet is buried except in the place where he died" (Al-Muwatta 1/231)

Al-Baqi Cemetery

  • Also known as Jannat Al-Baqi (heavenly garden) & also Baqi Al-Gharqad (garden of small trees)
  • The burial site for the wife family, children & friends of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.
